USAID’s SEED inaugurates the BUE’s Business Incubator

CAIRO, October 14, 2018 —The British University in Egypt today inaugurated its Business Incubator for innovation and entrepreneurship with the support of USAID’s SEED project to empower young entrepreneurs to develop sustainable start-ups that contribute to Egypt’s economic growth.

Annie Steed, USAID’s Acting Office of Economic Growth Director; and Mr. Mohamed Farid Khamis, Chairman of BUE Board of Trustees, along with the BUE President and other senior professors inaugurated the incubator with ribbon cutting and .

Steed said “Incubators like the one we’re inaugurating at BUE today work with students and aspiring entrepreneurs to build their business capacity, turn their ideas into viable business solutions, and provide them with the necessary skills to pitch astutely to potential investors”.

She confirmed that “At USAID, we believe that enhancing the growth and profitability of small and medium-sized enterprises is essential to creating employment, especially among women and youth, as well as promoting trade and investment that increases overall prosperity”.
